HIMALAYAN ENGLISH SCHOOL

HIMALAYAN ENGLISH SCHOOL GHANSALI

Himalayan English School, Ghansali organized 4day’s ATL Workshop for students for newly promoted students class VI, VII and VIII.

On 15th March, 2024, The ATL workshop program 2023-24, was inaugurated by Mr S.K Nautiyal,
Honorable Director of Himalayan English School, in which he explained difference between 2D and 3D
printing and importance of 3D printer for making various shapes required for making Robotics
components in brief.
In Atal Tinkering Laboratory, in the main banner it is written that “I AM AN INNOVATOR. The meaning
and objectives of these words are to observing various problems around us and finding their solution by
thinking differently. Out of many possible solutions, the best solution may be an innovation.
To demonstrate or make an Idea presentable for suggesting a solution in order to solve any problem,
building or developing a prototype is essential.
In ATL laboratory we have many electronics components such as resistors, capacitors, diodes, LEDs,
Integrated circuits , sensors, 3D printer, Robotics Kits and many mechanical tools for developing and
testing prototypes. ATL lab is a unique facility now available for only 10, 000 schools all over India. The
students of Himalayan English School are fortunate to get this opportunity.
To become a true innovator, the students must recognize various components and tools available in ATL
and understand the concept of their working principle. They must learn method of using, precautions
and safety rules before using those tools. The main objective of this workshop is to guide the students
for becoming familiar with various tools and implements of ATL laboratory.
On 16th March, 2024, the students learnt about basic concept of electric current, Dry cell, Electric
circuit, conductor and insulator, name and properties of various electronics components. The students
learnt the importance and use of resistors, capacitors, breadboard, jumper wire, battery, LED and
method of making temporary circuits using breadboard. From the e book of ATL Curriculum Level 1,
importance of 3D printer was also discussed.
On 18th March, 2024, the students learnt about all important basic skills required for developing
prototypes such as using Tinkercard software for developing and testing various electronics circuits
without real purchase of real electronics components. They also learnt about importance of multimeters for determining the condition of batteries, finding faults in rejected electronics circuits, soldering
etc.
On 19th March 2024, Dr. S C Rajput, Principal of HES, explained the importance of ATl Lab in providing a
platform for understanding various modern technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Data Science,
Robotics at an early age. Working in ATL will help the students to improve their logical ability and skills
which will be required for their bright future and success in life. He motivated the students to recognize
various components and tools and practice coding.
Mr Girish Uniyal, the vice Principal explained the students about the objective of ATL are to find new
ideas or innovations. They have to develop new prototypes by thinking differently. He gave the example
of various names of scientists like James Watt, the inventor of steam engine, Right Brothers the inventor
of Aero-plane. Without any systematic laboratory and resources they could develop such new things, so
with well equipped ATL laboratory we can do a lot of innovations if we work continuously and regularly
with strong determination.
Mr. Bobby Prakash Shriwal explained the students about how many of our students were selected for
district and state level science exhibitions due to presence of ATL in our school. He explained to the
students about use of Multi meter. He encouraged the students to make their prototypes of ideas with
guidance of teachers and using ATL tools.
Mr Ankaj Parmar, explained about robotics program in ATL laboratory. He also explained about how the
students can improve their knowledge and skill about electronics, Internet of Things, robotics in ATL lab.
Lastly, the students learnt following practical work:
1. Measuring voltage of batteries with multi-meter
2. Soldiering wires using soldiering Kit
3. Running EV3 Lego mind storm robotic kit on table.
Lastly, students enjoyed the refreshment happily
